History and Content / History and content

Its foundation was determined by the need to provide the Faculty of this center, and the set of departments that comprise it, with an instrument of scientific expression and communication with the rest of the educational community and with the specialized reader in general. All of this without denying space in its pages to reflect on the reality of musical education in our environment (Andalusian and national), especially at this time when the aim is to normalize the situation of higher musical studies in their homologation. with university students.

After a career of more than a decade, Hoquet's pages have been open both to the Conservatory's teaching staff and to authors outside it, as well as to works of any kind, as long as they are related to that eminently interdisciplinary science that is Musicology. , advocating quality and plurality.

In order to cover other important topics related to global music research, since the 2020/21 academic year, the magazine opens its editorial line to the human and social sciences. Therefore, in addition to the plot prism that has been carried out so far, topics on cultural anthropology, education or psychology of music, among others, will be accepted. Likewise, works in Spanish, Italian and English are accepted. From these premises it is intended to provide Hoquet with a broader perspective, with international views and with greater projection with respect to all related scientific fields. The articles presented must also be original. Interviews with relevant personalities are accepted, as long as they are accompanied by research work that justifies them.

Its foundation aimed to meet the need to provide scientific tools to the Staff and their respective Departments so as to become as an effective educational community outreach and specialized readers' platform. Notwithstanding current teaching backgrounds issues (both national and Andalusian recognition ones) that are in process of their qualifications as equivalent.

After more than one decade of experience, Hoquet is now open both the teaching Staff of the Conservatory and authors from outside it, as well as to works of any purpose, provided that they are related to the interdisciplinary science such as Musicology is, putting quality and plurality first. Papers submitted must also be original. Interviews with relevant personalities are suitable for the journal as long as they are attached to a research paper on which to base.

Currently, the journal is open to other fields of music that enable scientific impact studies in order to provide the publication with a wider scope and with more projection.
